Aftercare: Skin Tags, Blemish Removal, Thread Veins & Electrolysis

Essential Tips

After your skin blemish or tag removal treatment, following the right aftercare steps is key to ensuring smooth recovery and long-lasting results. Here's what you need to know:

  1. Always Clean Your Hands: While it's best to avoid touching the treated area, if you must, always clean your hands thoroughly first. This reduces the risk of infection and helps promote healthy healing.

  2. Temporary Redness & Soreness: It’s normal to experience some redness and mild soreness after treatment. Avoid picking or scratching the area to prevent scarring or irritation.

  3. Avoid Swimming: Refrain from swimming until the treated area feels comfortable and fully healed to prevent infection and irritation.

  4. No Exfoliation or Retinols: Avoid using exfoliants (chemical or mechanical) and retinol-based products before and after treatment, as they can slow down healing. Wait until your skin has fully normalised before reintroducing these products.

  5. Sun Protection: Protect the treated area from UV rays with a high SPF 50 sunscreen to prevent pigmentation changes and support healing. Sun exposure can lead to complications like discolouration.

  6. Use Cooling Aftercare: If required, use the recommended cooling gels or other suitable aftercare products/cooling compress for the first 48 hours post-treatment to soothe your skin and reduce any inflammation.

  7. Avoid Sweating & Heat: Avoid activities that cause excessive sweating or heat exposure, such as saunas, hot showers, or strenuous exercise, as these can aggravate the treated area and prolong healing.

  8. Avoid Tight Clothing & Makeup: Wear loose, breathable clothing to avoid friction or restriction on the treated area. If the treatment was on your face, avoid wearing makeup for a few days to give your skin time to heal without irritation from cosmetic products.

  9. Nutrient-Dense Diet: Eating nutrient-rich foods supports your skin’s healing process. Focus on a diet filled with vitamins and antioxidants to promote faster recovery.

  10. Follow-Up Appointment: Make sure to schedule a follow-up appointment around 4 weeks after treatment to monitor your healing, assess the results & take an awesome ‘after’ photo.

By adhering to these aftercare steps, you can ensure a quicker recovery and keep your skin looking healthy and blemish-free.
